How to use the BPSC Balochistan Photo tool

  1. Take the photo

Face the camera directly against a plain white wall, with both eyes open and your whole face in view.

  2. BPSC settings are ready

The resizer opens at 3.5 × 4.5 cm and 300 DPI (413 × 531 px), crop to fill and JPG, with the file kept under 1 MB.

  3. Check the crop

The photo is trimmed evenly from the centre. Make sure your whole head and the top of your shoulders are in the preview.

  4. Upload, then save

Add the JPG with Photo Upload on the Personal Information tab and check every field before you click Save.

Why use KBSnap’s Resize Image?

Under BPSC’s 1 MB limit
A 413 × 531 px JPG is a small fraction of the 1 MB the portal allows, so it uploads quickly.
Passport size by default
BPSC asks for a passport size photo without giving pixels, so the page uses 3.5 × 4.5 cm at 300 DPI.
JPG from any photo
PNG, WebP and iPhone HEIC photos are converted to JPG, the format most portals accept.
Upright and private
Sideways phone photos are turned upright, and GPS location data is removed from the file.
No upload, no account
The photo is resized in your browser and saved straight to your device.

BPSC photo requirements

The Balochistan Public Service Commission takes applications through its online job portal, where the photo is uploaded on the Personal Information tab. Here is what the note next to the upload button says, and what it leaves out:

The 3.5 × 4.5 cm size and the JPG format here are our suggested defaults, not BPSC rules: 3.5 × 4.5 cm is the usual passport size in Pakistan, and JPG is the safest format for photo uploads. Portals change, so read the current advertisement and the text next to the upload button before you apply.

BPSC here means the Balochistan Public Service Commission in Quetta. Other commissions share the same initials, and their photo rules are different.

Save once: get the photo right first

BPSC’s guidelines point out something easy to miss. You enter your personal information, including the photo, on the Personal Information tab and click Save, and that information is added only once: after saving, the Save button disappears.

So prepare the photo before you start the form, check the preview here, and upload the final JPG. Before clicking Save, check your name, father’s name, date of birth, domicile and the other fields too. For technical help with the online application, BPSC lists 081-9203264 during office hours, Monday to Friday.

How to apply online at BPSC, step by step

The guidelines walk through the whole process. In short:

  1. Go to bpsc.gob.pk and click Apply Online. If you don’t have an account yet, click Create Account, fill in your details and click Register.
  2. Sign in with your CNIC or your email address and password.
  3. On the Personal Information tab, enter your details, add your photo with Photo Upload and click Save.
  4. Add your education records, then your experience and any certificates, saving each one.
  5. Open Show Advertisement, read the description of the post and click Apply Now.
  6. Enter your bank challan details and click Submit.
  7. Under Job History, open Document to download your candidate application form and your online acknowledgement receipt as PDFs.

BPSC’s apply page adds that no hard copy of the application or copies of documents need to be sent to BPSC. Keep the bank challan or treasury receipt safe: you have to produce it when you appear in the exam.

Meeting BPSC’s photo rules at home

The upload note on BPSC’s form asks for a passport size photo with a white background, your head facing the camera directly, both eyes open and your full face in view. This tool doesn’t change or remove backgrounds, so most of the work happens when you take the picture:

  • Stand in front of a plain white wall, or tape a smooth white sheet behind you.
  • Face a window in daylight so the light on your face is even and the wall stays white, not yellow.
  • Keep your head straight, look into the lens and keep both eyes open.
  • Keep hair, hands and anything else away from your face, so your full face is in view.
  • Ask someone else to hold the phone at eye level, a few steps away, with space above your head and below your shoulders.

For crown and chin guide lines, frame the photo in the Passport Photo Maker with the Pakistan preset, then use the downloaded JPG on the form.

Common problems with BPSC uploads

  • The photo is over 1 MB. A photo straight from a phone camera is often larger than 1 MB. The preset shrinks it to 413 × 531 px, far below the limit.
  • An iPhone or PNG file won’t upload. The guidelines don’t name a format, so convert to JPG to be safe. The preset does this for you.
  • You clicked Save too early. Because personal information can be saved only once, a wrong photo is hard to fix. Prepare everything first.
  • The photo is cut off. The crop comes from the centre. If your head was near the top of the original, take a new photo with more space around you.

Printed photos are a separate matter. BPSC’s FAQ page still lists five passport size latest photographs among the testimonials for an application form, while the online portal says no hard copy is needed. Follow your advertisement and any letter you receive from BPSC; the Pakistan passport photo page makes a print sheet if you need copies.

What this tool does and doesn’t do

The resizer gives an existing photo the right size, shape and format, and keeps the file under the limit you set. It doesn’t detect faces, check your pose or change the background.

KBSnap is an independent free tool and isn’t connected with BPSC. It doesn’t sign in to the portal or submit anything: you upload the finished JPG yourself on bpsc.gob.pk.

Frequently asked questions

What is the photo size for a BPSC online application?

BPSC’s portal asks for a passport size photo with a white background, less than 1 MB, with your head facing the camera, both eyes open and your full face in view. It doesn’t give pixel dimensions; this page uses 3.5 × 4.5 cm (413 × 531 px) as a suggested size.

What background colour does BPSC want?

White. The tool keeps the background of your photo, so take it against a plain white wall or sheet.

Can I change my photo after saving my BPSC profile?

BPSC’s guidelines say personal information is added only once and the Save button then disappears, so check the photo before saving. For technical help, BPSC lists 081-9203264, Monday to Friday.

Do I need to post documents or photos to BPSC?

The apply page says no hard copy of the application or documents is required. Keep your bank challan or treasury receipt to show at the exam, and follow any instructions in your advertisement.

Does this page work for other BPSC exams outside Pakistan?

No. This page covers the Balochistan Public Service Commission. Other commissions with the same initials have their own photo rules.

Is KBSnap connected with BPSC?

No. KBSnap is an independent free tool that runs in your browser. It never sends your photo to BPSC or anyone else.
